Taking advantage of this online technology allows me to provide you with the highest level of care in an accessible, easy manner.
Is Online Therapy Confidential And HIPAA Compliant ?
As per New York State law, I have implemented several policies and protective measures to ensure that your Personal Health Information (PHI) remains confidential. These HIPAA compliant, encrypted protective measures are put in place to prevent technological breaches of confidentiality, by utilizing these extra levels of security.
Since I am licensed to practice psychotherapy in New York State, legally, this requires that you have a legal residence located somewhere within New York State.
Does Online Therapy really work?
According to the American Psychological Association (APA), 25% of adults in the USA need therapy, but only half of these adults actually access therapy. This can be due to stigma, lack of support, lack of transportation, or lack of motivation.
APA research demonstrates that adults are much more likely to seek treatment when online therapy becomes an option. A study done by the University of California in Berkeley showed that adults who used online therapy had vast improvements in their mental health and wellbeing equivalent to that of traditional face-to-face therapy.
Having several years of experience in traditional face-to-face therapy greatly contributes to my high success rate conducting online therapy with my clients.
